What is Homeopathy?

A German physician, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century, developed homeopathy. It s principles, however, have been in use by other physicians for at least 2000 years. Hippocrates, the Greek Father of Medicine wrote in the 4th century B.C. "through the like, disease is produced, and through the application of the like, it is cured"

In the 15th century, Paracelsus also used these principles in his medical practice. But it was Hahnemann who really developed this form of medicine into a science, popularizing the phrase "similia similibus currentur" meaning like is cured by like.

Homeopathy has a rich history of being practiced by people from all walks of Life. Medical Doctors, Dentists, Naturopaths, Veterinarians, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Psychiatrists, Nurses and people from many other fields including have used the healing power of Samuel Hahnemann's similimum to relieve suffering.

Much to the chagrin of the "Trained and Licensed Medical Professional", many of the best practitioners throughout the history of Homeopathy have been Lay people. The advantage the lay person has over the medically trained person is simply that they don't have to overcome the emphasis on the pharmacodynamics of the medicinal agents and the emphasis on disease etiology that the Medical Professional has had tattooed into their consciousness.

Homeopathy requires a different style of thinking that is often difficult to learn for someone trained to determine the etiology of a disease in the medical sense.

The Substances Homeopathic Remedies Are Made From

Homeopathic remedies are originally derived from the following substances.

  • Botanicals: herbs, roots and flowers.
  • Minerals and Mineral Substances
  • Animal Substances: (Venoms)
  • Electricity, x-ray, and magnetic fields
  • Hormones, drugs and poisons such as agent orange
  • Healthy tissue or secretions of the body and organ preparations
  • Bacteria, viruses and pathology. Using these substances in my practice has saved peoples' lives. I cannot understate the importance of learning how to use them. If you have a grave illness with no known treatment, you can try homeopathy. Medical records show that diphtheria was cured in the 1800's by using homeopathic remedies. There is a homeopathic remedy available for practically every disease.
  • Secretions or flakes taken from a person's skin, urine, blood, saliva, and/or mucous are used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, boils, ulcers or infections.
All homeopathic remedies should be made at FDA-registered homeopathic pharmacies and according to the simple procedure of dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking). Succussion is also known as dynamization or potentization. It may sound like succussion is complicated, but it simply involves shaking some energy into the dilution or remedy.

Homeopathic Remedy Preparation

Here are the steps that go into making a homeopathic remedy from scratch.

  1. A substance is dissolved in an alcohol/water solution called a tincture.
  2. Then one drop of the tincture is diluted into from 9 to 99 drops of alcohol/water solution.
  3. This solution is vigorously succussed (pounded & shaken). Succussion is performed on every homeopathic remedy; it imbues the water with kinetic energy, thereby increasing the remedy's potency.
  4. One drop of this dilution is then added to from 9 to 99 drops of fresh alcohol/water.
  5. It is succussed again.

This procedure can be repeated, and with each dilution increasing the therapeutic effect and the potency.

The potency of a remedy refers to the number of dilutions in any preparation, which has been dynamized using succussion. Although homeopathic potencies go from very low to very high, most beginners start with the X and C scale. Conventionally, remedies are made on scales of 1:10 dilutions and 1:100 dilutions. The 1:10 dilution scale is designed X, and the 1:100 scale is call C potency. A 12X potency means that the original tincture is diluted 1:10 a total of 12 times serially, with vigorous shaking in between. A 12 C means that the original tincture is serially diluted 1:100 a total of 12 times, also with successions between dilutions.

The number of "succussions" required for each dilution is not necessarily written in stone. In fact, some homeopathic physicians violently dispute the correct numbers almost as much as traditional doctors dispute the validity of homeopathy's healing powers.

Homeopathic remedies must be registered with the FDA. They have no known toxicity and are safe for all.
