Japan halts beef shipments as radiation probe expands!
TOKYO — Concerns about radiation-tainted beef intensified Sunday in Japan as officials struggled to determine the scope of the problem and prevent further contamination of the meat supply. When people talk about dangerous radiation they mean ionizing radiation at levels far above the ‘background radiation’ levels we experience every day. Nuclear Radiation: Types of Radiation
Non-ionizing radiation such as visible light, radar, microwaves and radio waves is largely harmless. Ionizing radiation, however, has the power to break molecular bonds in living tissue, causing damage and in extreme cases death.
Ionizing radiation is the excess energy or mass produced by unstable atoms. It comes in two forms; waves such as X-rays and gamma rays, and particles such as alpha and beta particles. When these pass through living tissue, or are ingested, they can remove electrons from atoms turning them into positively charged particles, or ions, which may damage the body’s cells. Nuclear radiation is on our minds especially those downwind of Japan’s continuing disaster. Unless they entomb the entire plant, as they did at Chernobyl, it will continue spewing into the environment; land, sea and air.
The radiation contamination to food supplies is not only prompting continued testing in Japan, but around the world testing for radiation is going on, including here in the US.
The Japanese lifestyle as they know it has been drastically affected due to the fact that their staple diet which is grown in their country, including fish, rice and seaweed, is now contaminated. They were mislead as to the safety of the nuclear plants and were ill advised that they were safe 20 miles or even 50 miles from the plant. Actually, research shows that 200 miles may be too close if there is a meltdown or even a partial meltdown.
A nuclear expert has warned it could be a 100 years before fuel rods at Japan’s stricken Fukushima nuclear plant are safe.Dr John Price, a former member of the Safety Policy Unit at the UK’s National Nuclear Corporation, said radiation leaks will continue and it could take 50 to 100 years before the nuclear fuel rods have cooled enough to be removed.
The warning comes as the mother of one of the workers who are battling to stop a meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear plant said today that they all expect to die from radiation sickness ‘within weeks’
I have compiled the following information and created a protocol for radiation protection. Unfortunately, I had direct experience with radiation from being exposed to the Chernobyl disaster while studying in Europe. I healed myself from the effects of the fallout including radiation sickness.

Glutathione and a potentially protective combination!
We know radiation exposure causes approximately 3% of all cancers. This fact has been studied extensively. When you are exposed to radiation a very reactive type of free radical is formed called a “hydroxyradical”. Studies have shown glutathione’s (GSH) detoxification abilities play a key role in neutralizing hydroxyradicals and cancer specialists are now raising glutathione (GSH) levels in patients who are undergoing radiation therapy as part of their cancer treatment. Detoxification benefits from boosted glutathione (GSH) levels and helps cancer patients better tolerate their treatment. Studies have also been done around the world, from Switzerland to Spain to India to Germany, on the effect of glutathione (GSH) on radiation damage. Low levels of glutathione (GSH) were connected with an increased risk of developing cancer from radiation exposure. Patients undergoing cancer treatment experienced stronger side effects and greater injury from radiation therapy when they had low glutathione (GSH) levels.
The immune system will be better able to withstand radiation therapy when cancer specialists raised glutathione (GSH) prior to treatment. The implication here is…glutathione (GSH) does and will, to a greater degree, play a major role in the treatment of cancer by using detoxification to reduce the damaging effects of radiation.
The best way to accomplish normal amounts of radiation to be produced naturally by the body is to fix the pathway that creates it ~ The Hepatic Glutathione pathway. This is accomplished through balancing and adding missing nutrients such as methycobalamine, folinic acid, N.A.C., SAMe, TMG (Trimethylglycine), etc.
Protection and Healing Protocol and Diet for Any Type of Radiation Exposure

- Seaweed varieties are excellent source of iodine
Nuclear Anti-Radiation Diet
In short, after any sort of radioactive exposure you want to be eating seaweeds and algae’s. Whether you’re worried about depleted uranium, plutonium or other isotopes, this is the wise thing to do which can possibly help, and certainly won’t hurt. Wash all foods carefully but don’t eat foods that have been contaminated with fallout. My advice, buys frozen veggies if your food supply has been exposed to radiation, and find out where and when they are grown and packaged. Basically, an anti-radiation diet should focus on the following organic foods:
- Miso soup
- Dulse or any other type of sea veggie
- High beta carotene vegetables
- Beans and lentils
- Potassium, calcium and mineral rich foods
- High nucleotide content foods to assist in cellular repair including spirulina, chlorella, algae, sardines, anchovies and mackerel
- Olive oil (not for cooking-put on foods)
- Avoid sugars and sweets and wheat
Yet another benefit of the sea vegetables rarely discussed is their high mineral content, which is a bonus in the case of radioactive exposure. Consuming natural iodine, such as in the seaweeds, helps prevent the uptake of iodine-131 while iron inhibits the absorption of plutonium-238 and plutonium-239. Vitamin B-12 inhibits cobalt-60 uptake (used in nuclear medicine), zinc inhibits zinc-65 uptake and sulfur is preventative for sulfur-35 (a product of nuclear reactors) incorporation by the body.
At the time of the atomic bombing, Tatsuichiro Akizuki, M.D. was Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at St. Francis’s Hospital in Nagasaki and he fed his staff and patients a strict diet of brown rice, miso and tamari soy soup, wakame, kombu and other seaweed, Hokkaido pumpkin, and sea salt. He also prohibited the consumption of sugar and sweets since they suppress the immune system.
In Chernobyl, for instance, spirulina was used to help save many children from radiation poisoning. By taking 5 grams of spirulina a day for 45 days, the Institute of Radiation Medicine in Minsk even proved that children on this protocol experienced enhanced immune systems, T-cell counts and reduced radioactivity. Israeli scientists have since treated Chernobyl children with doses of natural beta carotene from Dunaliella algae and proved that it helped normalize their blood chemistry. Chlorella algae, a known immune system builder and heavy metal detoxifier, have also shown radio protective effects. Because they bind heavy metals, algae should therefore be consumed after exposure to any type of radioactive contamination. (Note: Marine phytoplankton is also a powerful detoxifier and nourishing product. In 1968 a group of Canadian researchers at McGill University of Montreal, headed by Dr. Stanley Skoryna, actually set out to devise a method to counteract the effects of nuclear fallout. The key finding from their studies was that sea vegetables contained a polysaccharide substance, called sodium alginate, which selectively bound radioactive strontium and eliminated it from the body.
EMF (electro-magnetic field)
Electro-magnetic field is a broad term, which includes electric fields, generate by charged particles, magnetic fields generated by charged particles in motion, and radiated fields such a TV, radio, and microwaves. Electric fields are measured in units of volts per meter or V/m. Magnetic fields are measured in milli-Gauss or mG. The field is always strongest near the source and diminishes as you move away from the source. These energies have the ability to influence particles at great distances. For example, the radiation from a radio tower influences the atoms within a distant radio antenna, allowing it to pick up the signal.
Why are EMF’s Dangerous?
After more than 25 years of intensive study, the health and safety conscious Swedish government has established a safety limit for exposure to ELF magnetic field at 2.5 mG, and VLF magnetic fields at only 0.25 mG.
Although the U.S. government has been slower to act in establishing its own standards, the Swedish standard is generally accepted throughout the world. What this possibly means is that if someone consistently experiences exposure, which exceeds the standard, that personcould be at risk for developing health problems, which can range from headaches, fatigue, and dizziness to skin rashes, miscarriage and neuro-endocrine disruptor, leukemia, and cancer. In fact, numerous court cases where plaintiffs claim to have been injured by EMFs are now in progress.
Even though the controversy of conflicting scientific studies persists, it seems strange that cigarettes and alcohol are packaged with warnings we already know about, and the sodium, fat, and cholesterol content of foods must appear on the labels, but no one tells you that the average hair dryer, vacuum cleaner emits an amazing 300 mg OR MORE!!!
The effects of EMF’S on biological tissue remains the most controversial aspect of the EMF issue with virtually all scientists agreeing that more research is necessary to determine safe or dangerous levels. Iron, necessary for healthy blood and stored in the brain, is highly affected by EMF. The permeability of the cell membrane of our nerves, blood vessels, skin and other organs is affected. The intricate DNA of the chromosomes has been shown to be effected by EMFs as well. In fact, throughout our bodies, every biochemical process involves precisely choreographed movement of EMF-sensitive atoms, molecules, and ions.
Electro-magnetic (EMR) Radiation
Electro-pollution is insidious and effects all of us in so many ways and yet, we often do not make the connection between our compromised functioning and exposure to the world of EMFs and Wireless technology. EMR Radiation made up of oscillating electric and magnetic fields and propagated with the speed of light. Includes gamma radiation, X-rays, ultraviolet, visible, and infrared radiation, and radar and radio waves.
Radio Frequency (RF) Radiation
This type of radiation is defined as the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum ranging from 10 kilohertz (10,000 cycles per second) to 300 gigahertz (300 billion cycles per second). AM and FM radio, broadcast television, cellular phones and WiFi are all examples of technologies that utilize RF radiation.
Cellular networks in the United States typically operate in the 800 megahertz (800 million cycles per second) or 1,900 megahertz range, whereas WiFi most commonly operates at 2.45 gigahertz. Health and environmental concerns are raised both by the power level or intensity of RF radiation emissions, as well as by the characteristics of the signal itself (e.g., its frequency, modulations, and pulses). If you have a cell tower near your residence or your office, determine if it is sending or receiving microwaves. Go to www.antennasearch.com. You will be able to locate it and determine who owns it. Call the company that owns the tower and ask if it sending or receiving.
